Does anyone NOT have a required school supply list? - Page 2

We attend public and we don't get lists. The teachers usually ask for help with a few things like Kleenex or wipes, but it is not a requirement. We provide personal things like backpacks and lunch boxes, etc, but their actual school supplies are covered.

Being public, there are no tuition fees. We do pay minimal amounts for field trips if they are pricey, but that is usually less than $5-10.

Breakfast is provided for all elementary students at no charge. Lunch is $2 or $2.20.

We are very blessed here.

Our district provides all supplies up until the 7th grade.  After that we have to provide notebooks and pens/pencils only.

We don't get a supply list persay.  Our kids have had to have folders, a pencil case, and bring in tissues and clorox wipes.  Everything else is supplied by the school.

We have to supply everything PLUS pay a book rental fee each year! Usually over $100 per child per grade.

If it's at public school....wow! All I can think of is that taxes must be crazy.

It's public school. And the taxes probably are crazy!

We have a list. I had a list growing up as well. We do offer parents the option of ordering a school supply pack through a company. Most parents do order the packs because it is easy and they don't have to shop. Not me though, I'm cheap. The packs are like $53!! I can buy everything cheaper than that. Last year, I bought all three kids' stuff for less than that thanks to the great sales.
