Are you comfortable eating alone at a restaurant?

I am not talking about McDonald's or any fast food place like that.   I'm talking about a nice restaurant.

First of all, have you done this and do you do it often?

Second, do you just go and sit and eat or do you need to bring something to read?  Or do you find someone else dining alone and ask if they want company?

I am quite comfortable by myself

Eta. I would be uncomfortable if a stranger asked to join me.

I enjoy being by myself so eating alone is no problem. I do tend to bring something to read or a puzzle book to work on, even in nice restaurants. I could be a hermit. I really could.

Yup, used to do that a lot when I used to travel with DH before kids.  He used to go to work and I would hit all the fancy places around. I love people watching - so relaxing.

I've never eaten alone in a nice restaurant, but it wouldn't bother me to do it.  I'm a natural loner.

Before I married E and after dd went off to school, I ate out often at a nice place by myself. Didn't bother me one bit.

No. I would feel awkward sitting by myself.

I had them sit me off to the side because at first I did feel awkward.  Then I realized there were a ton of business travlers eating alone too and started feeling comfortable with it. I even had a second cup of tea.

I don't mind going out eating alone.  I'll take a book with me and read while I enjoy my dinner.   I like my alone time.

I'm perfectly content to be alone. I've gone to restaurants by myself, movies, etc. Even in high school and college I'd grab a bite to eat and bring a book or some notes and do homework or study if I just couldn't concentrate on it in the library.  I'd be majorly weirded out if someone I didn't know asked to join me, unless they were wicked hot or something lol
