Always ask at the front desk of a hotel you are staying at for coupons

Last night we left our house at 6 p.m. headed to St. Charles. We stopped at a holiday Inn for the night. We had no coupons or anything. There were several pricey steakhouses around. I asked the manager at the front desk if she had any books with coupons in them. She asked where we were from and when I told her, she call one of the steakhouses and we got 5% off. Hey that was a start.

And today when we got to our hotel in St. Charles, I asked for some coupons for area restaurants and she gave us several books with various coupons in them. Not just for food either. But also for area stores.

Never hurts to ask.

Yes, when we stay at hotels we always ask about food and attraction discounts.

St Charles, Missouri by chance?  -That is super close to me if so.

I never thought to do this.  Great tip.

We started doing that recently because one the places we stayed on the way to Florida had a little sign in the room saying to please inquire at the front desk for coupons to local restaurants.  I guess it is a win-win situation.  We get some money off and the the restaurants get extra business.
