Were you pretty forceful about potty training?

Did you really get on your kids when it came to using the potty or were you more relaxed about it?

No, they were pretty young so I didn't have to be. I've been a lot harder on M about being dry at night, though.  Potty training is one of those things you can't push too hard about.

Baby boy practically potty trained himself, and started being dry at night, too. However tonight he is wearing a princess pull-up because we don't have any diapers and I am tired of washing his sheets. He had like 5 accidents this week.

Nope. I was pretty laid back and didn't really care if they won the potty contest w/ all the other kids who had moms I knew. I knew they'd eventually learn and it wasn't worth stressing about to me.

No, we took their time. Both of my kids were easy to potty train though.

I didn't push it, and when it was time, they were day trained with in the week and night time shortly after.

My mother SWEARS I was toilet trained at 16 months.... HA  really?  could I pull up my pants by myself?  how many accidents did I have?  I mean, my girls would never have been potty trained at 16 months.

No.  I briefly tried pressuring L and it blew up in my face.  So I waited another couple months and she trained herself.  With E, she still isn't dry through the night so we haven't bothered with potty training yet.  She will when she's ready too.  She's not quite 2 1/2.  L was trained at about 32 months and it only took a couple days when she decided she was ready.  I'm hoping for the same thing with E.

Not really. DD was around 3, I think. With DS we were going to start pushing a little but he was adamant about diapers- when he was 3 my aunt asked him if he was going to get married in diapers and he said yes. (I'm sure he had no real idea what she was talking about, but it was funny!) I figured some of my nephews weren't fully potty trained until they were almost 4 so I had time. Then one day DS just went (I think he was about 3 1/2) and that was it. No more diapers or pull-ups (which really were more like diapers anyway!)
