Under armour running small?

I know Under Armour is for athletes and not Lands End sizing for example.  However, do you think it is running really small?  dh bought me an UA size L shirt for my birthday and I have to take it back.  Normally I wear a size M in shirts.  It was skin tight.  It was not compression fit so I'm not sure why it was so small.

Yes it runs small.

The only one in my family who wears Under Armour is my DS who wore a lot of it in HS while playing football. It was all skin tight but that was the point of it. To stay close to the skin and wick moisture or to keep him warm in the fall. He always wore the same size in UA as in regular clothes. We didn't buy him a size up, much less 2 sizes up.

they do run small and are suppose to be fitted, I used to buy the shirts for my nephews as they love them

I don't think they run small. They are supposed to be tight and very fitted so they don't chafe. If there was air space between your body and the cloth that also doesn't allow you to be cool/warm effectively.

They're supposed to be tight, even if it's not the "compression" gear.  I've never worn the women's, but I've shopped for UA for hubby.

My whole family wears UA and we wear the same size as our regular clothes.  What fit is the shirt?  I have loose fit taks that are just like my regular tanks but most of my stuff is fitted and fits tight to the skin.

My whole family wears UA and we have found them to run true to size.  You just have to watch the style, some are regular and others are more fitted.
