When kids have jobs and you plan vacation.... - Page 4

I'm glad everything worked out.

I was going to suggest that your dd go ahead and quit this job since she was wanting to get a new job anyway and because this vacation was important to your family.  It wouldn't look good on an application for her to have to say that she was fired from a job.

I also wouldn't leave a 17-year-old home alone for a week.  I know kids babysit, but they don't usually stay the entire night.  Besides, I'm not even sure if it's legal to leave a minor home that long.

I worked for McDonald's in high school, they pride themselves on working WITH teenagers and all thier activies.  I will say they are very good about it.   I had switched jobs and went to work for a grocery store, they fired me in less than 3 months because they said I took too much time off.  I was a senior in high school, I was on the track team, I had prom, graduation, senior trips, ect ect.  All my friends that were still working at McDs had no trouble and had blessings from work to have a good time.  I got fired.   To this day I won't shop that store. LOL

Funny....my DS works for Chic Fil A and they always worked with him and ALL the teens that are employed there, for Prom, Homecoming, even when some kids come home from college!!  But where my DD works, now not the case, when she was first hired, her boss was awesome and had the same values as Chic Fil A, but ever since he left and the company went through major changes, its been not so good for her :(  well, like I said she had been wanting a change, not this way, but everything happens for a reason! :)  Thanks for your support!

Thanks, and agree about the babysitting, yes she has babysat for neighbors, but I am not too far away.  One of the families wanted her to sit overnight, and I said NO.
