ROTF.gif Have you ever read a book or seen a movie and thought that person must have had a disturbing childhood?

I think that when I see a Tim Burton movie. Who makes a children's movie about a kid that buries a dog and brings him back to life?

I always thought Stephen King must be a little "off" because of his stories. I had a patient once who had family that lived next door to him and said he is just a normal regular guy.

Which Tim Burton movie is that??  I'm not recalling that.

but I love Tim Burton films, they are so fantastical.   And I love that Johnny Depp is in almost all of them. LOL  ;)

I think the movie is Frankenweenie.

I always thought that about Stephen King- he is a fantastically wonderful writer, but one has to wonder where does he come up with that?!

Yes Frankenweenie. He brings his dead dog back to life.

Coraline gave my youngest nightmares.

I consider myself pretty sane and I had a wonderful childhood but I LOVE writing horror stuff. Not bloody, well at least not too bloody.

Maybe it's not a childhood thing, it could be a personality disorder.  I think bipolar disorder and depression can breed some INCREDIBLE creativity.  That's why so many artists refuse to medicate their conditions.

I wondered about the guy who wrote "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo". There is SO much violence toward women and so much rape etc, I sort of wondered if he was living out some sick fantasies through his writing. Maybe not, but I did wonder.

That would make it even stranger since he wrote it with his wife or exwife didn't he.

I saw the Human Centipede. Holy crap.  But who's more screwed up? The person who writes these movies, or the masses that go out and voluntarily watch them?
