Do you remember to ask for a rain check if an item on sale is out at the store?

The $1 jars of Prego were flying off the shelves at HyVee. Earlier this week they were completely out from what a friend told me. I went today and they had restocked. One worker reminded me to try and ask for a rain check at customer service when items on sale are sold out.

 

Plus the expiration date on those is usually a few weeks out so by then you might come across a coupon to add extra savings.

For me, it's not a matter of remembering to get a rain check but deciding if I will wait in the customer service line to get one.  If it is a very good deal, I'll wait.
