My number 1 beverage drinking dinner tip.

people always wonder how I am able to feed so many people/teenage boys. It took me a long time but I have learned, if I put the glasses on the table and I have a picture, sometimes two, of iced water on the table, nine times out of ten, most of them will go for the water!

It's the perfect drink!

Great idea!  It's great they go for the water most of the time.

I always served my kids water for dinner. Maybe milk when they were really small, but not as they got older. I NEVER serve my kids soft drinks at home. Even now. I don't put in in a pitcher though, just individual glasses. Of course I don't have that many people.

I always offer our guests their choice of beverages. And water is one of them along with sweet tea, milk or cokes. I always let my daughter have one coke a day. The same with E kids. But they could have juice, lemonade and milk all they wanted.

My SIL really struggled to make ends meet when I first got married and she used to only serve water as well.  Having grown up drinking milk at dinner, it was strange for me not to be offered anything else.

That is what makes it so perfect. One of my "rules" a gallon of milk if never allowed to be put on the table. If you want a glass of milk, you have to get up, walk over to the fridge and get it yourself. Something I always personally did but something I had to re -enforce when my 6'9" kid polished off a gallon of milk one night that the dinner table. A pretty amazing feat if I hadn't had to pay for the milk. biggrin.gif

But with the water, iced like they all like it, and sitting right there on the table ... It is just too tempting for their lazy natures. Lol. Even the kids that don't like water.

That's a college challenge, to be able to drink a gallon of milk in an hour without throwing up.

Side track haha
