How much money do you usually spend on your S/O for his birthday?

Do you have ideas on how to spend less but still give a unique gift?

My DH's birthday was in June and I don't remember how much I spent, but it was between $100-200. The thing is, I just buy him work clothes and he like the dress shirts and dress pants from Lands End which are fairly expensive. So although I spend quite a bit, it's just for clothes he needs anyway, not just "stuff". If I didn't spend that much, then he'd just order them and spend that much, so I don't really think of it as expensive.

DH's birthday is in December. It's probably a curse of all people born around the holidays but I usually just lump it in with a Christmas gift.

As an unspoken rule we don't buy each other things for birthdays or our anniversary, but I tend to get him something with a more extravagent price tag that I know he wants/needs and just blame it on my Christmas spirit. How much money depends on where our finances are at and the item obviously. This year it's going to be a tire changer and balancer if things stay on the current track and he hasn't bought it for himself by then.

DH's birthday is in January so it really depends on how much I spend on him during Christmas.  I try to buy him gifts all year so I'm not in any 'crunch'.  Probably I'd say maybe around $50ish.  I find it hard buying men gifts in general!

How about a photo gift of you and/or your kids?  A mug or tumbler?

We too don't exchange or we exchange experience gifts take him out for a dinner or a movie or bowling etc.

He took me to the symphony one year it was a fab gift.

We don't set a limit on how much to spend on gifts, it depends on what he wants or how our finances look. His bday is a few weeks after Christmas and he was always raised where he had to celebrate the two together, I try to keep them seperated for him.

It really depends on what we find that is totally perfect for him,

My husband's birthday was on Sunday. I spent about $30 this year, but one of his gifts was free.  I often do like aliadam and buy him work clothes.  In fact, I forgot to tell him to go buy himself some new workout clothes because I noticed his need replacing but I wanted him to pick them out himself.
