Want knit / crochet / weaving project idea ...

I found Peaches & Cream cotton yarn on sale for $1 a skein. I picked up 3 skeins of purple and 3 skeins or multi-color that has the same purple in it. The yarn can be used separately or together in one project. But I have no ideas! I've got tons of hats, scarves and hand-warmers. I'm thinking maybe of making shell top but I don't want to get half-way through and find out I don't have enough yarn. Those cotton skeins don't go far. My bedroom is purple and yellow so I could make a pillow for the bed - even though I really don't NEED another pillow.

Any thoughts?

I like to make pot holders with those yarns because they are 100% cotton they won't melt when you put your hot pot on them.  I also use that one to make dish rags, they are easy to make.

Do you use the website Ravelry?  You can find a lot of inspiration there from people who have actually done the projects.  You can go to the yarn tab and type in the yarn you have and find projects that people have done with that yarn.

Also, I have not made this one yet, but I have had it bookmarked for a while and want to make them... It is from this website.  She has a lot of great ideas and shows how to do some different stitches.

I have made numerous potholders out of that yarn too.  I make it extra long and then fold it over and stitch it up so it's thick enough to not worry about getting burnt no matter how hot the pan is.  I have some everyday potholders, some in Christmas and flag colors and some in Green and Gold (go Packers!).  My siblings and niece all got some for Christmas last year.

Thanks Dewdrop75 for the website.  I will have to check it out.

When I was a kid, my mom had this yarn sachet-looking bag that she had crocheted.  She would put all the little slivers of left-over soap in there and it made a great scrubby and helped to use up those little slivers of soap.  I would love to find a pattern for something like that.

Ravelry is pretty cool. I think I'll make a market bag. I prefer my hot mitts and wash rags made from 100% wool. The cotton ones seem to get skanky too fast.
