My perfect day!

My family (DH, DD, DS, and one teen boy) and a friend along with his two kids and I floated down the Moyie River on small rafts. I had a blast.

The only downside, I sprayed sunscreen on my legs when I still had my shorts on and ended up burning the tops of my legs slightly. rolleyes.gif Dumb move.

The trip took about four hours.

Anyone else go floating this summer?

Glad you had a wonderful day - you so deserve it!

No floating  in a river - way too scared of snakes and lack of swimming skills.  Did tubing in theme parks though.

I'm so glad you had a relaxing nice day for a change!!! I was able to get a little float time today in the pool (LOL)!  It was just too hot here to do anything else today.

Glad you had a good time, you deserve it.

We have had the jet boat out a couple of times this year. I can't swim but I do wear a life jacket, and I go tubing all of the time.

Dh always asks me to go kayaking and it would be very similar to what you did.  No work, just really floating down the river.  I have yet to say yes.  I just seem to prefer to sit home where it is quiet.  I know when I finally do, I'll have a good time.

We were passed by kayakers yesterday, it does look like a lot of fun. You should go.

We aren't floaters.  They would be bored.  We float from our dock down to the boat ramp, it takes about 15 minutes.  That is about all they can handle.

Your day sounds awesome. Our river is too slow-moving for floating on tubes. We have kayaks and it is a wonderful, cheap, and relaxing way to spend an afternoon. It can also be good exercise as we have little races throughout the trip...like "race ya to that big tree, or the next house, etc". We can easily make a day of it as our river empties into Lake Michigan. We have packed coolers and paddled out to the Lake and found a deserted beach for lunch and swimming.

How old, in your opinion, does a kid have to be to learn to use a kayak? We've been thinking about looking for some but I have no clue, what is reasonable for a kid to start using one.

Glad you enjoyed your day!

No floating here. I don't think it would be my perfect day, it would be torture for me!
