Is there a last name you wouldn't want to take if you got married? - Page 2

I knew a girl in HS her last name was Dickey.  I also knew a guy in elementary school whose last name was Dinkle.  I would probably not want either of those names.  My married last name is a mans first name.  For me it's no big deal, but when people ask DH his last name and he says it they say, no your last name.  Confusing.  I'm glad we had girls.  LOL

My poor husband's last name has the word Gay as part of it. Boy did he face a lot of teasing as a kid. One day in elementary school someone asked him if he was. It was at a time when dictionaries were a little more pc. It said gay meant happy so he said he was. Poor guy. Thank God times has changed and no one even asks my oldest DD about her last name.

 That was me too.

Now, everyone assumes my last name is spelled like Danger (soft G) but really it rhymes with hanger.

I dated  guy with the last name of Leech once.  Now if it were Lietch, or Leitch, yes.  But Leech, NO.

I work in a bank and see all sorts of names come through.  I went to school with a Rocky Green (bad golf course)...a Heaven Lee...a Rusty Crouch....etc.  I also cannot imagine what parents are thinking when they give their kids almost the same first name as their last name (ie., John Johns, Phillip Phillips, James Jameson....etc.).

I wouldn't want the last name Butts, Dick, etc.  My maiden name is Wolfe....and I endured a LOT of howling growing up.  People have trouble with my last name now, but it beats getting howled at.

And a funny...My dh's first name is Stacy.  In school once, someone asked my oldest what her parents' names were.  She replied, "Stacy and Martha...."  The other child replied..."Oh.  I didn't know your Mom was a lesbian."

My sister's husband's last name is Ball.  She kept her maiden name, since she's a high school teacher & didn't want to be Mrs. Ball in a room full of high school boys.  I went to school with a Sam Francisco, and there was a Dusty Rhodes in a neighboring town.
