Are you watching the Olympics? - Page 2

No. Waiting for football season.

I am pretty indifferent but tonight, I admit, synchronized diving pulled me in. I never knew such sport even existed. Totally insane.

It goes without saying I love the equestrian events, the dressage and cross country are my favorites. Why synchronized swimming and 50 rounds of beach volleyball (2 people per team was boring as hell) deserve more air time is beyond me. I end up turning to google.

I love watching the gymnastics. The floor exercises and vaulting are just insane. I watched some of the mens floor last night and all dh and I could say after every pass was, "that's f'ing nuts". The height they get and the flipping they do with a straight body, I don't understand it. I've never even been able to do a cartwheel lol

Nope. We don't have a TV this summer.

Surprisingly, no.

Usually we're so into the Olympics it ruins our entire schedule but not this year. It started with the OIC refusing to acknolwedge the Israeli athletes that were murdered during the Olympics 40(?) years ago. We got P.O.'ed at that and decided to not watch the opening ceremony. Since then we really haven't seen much of it. We watched the archery finals and that was interesting but not much else.

I don't get NBC. Here you have to have cable to get even local channels. We stream Netflix and Hulu through our tv. I tried to watch NBC online, but b/c I didn't have a tv service provider it didn't work.

That's why we bought the digital antenna.  It was just $20 on Amazon (we bought this one).  If you live anywhere remotely near a tower, it will pick up channels (including HD) for you.

We have a special antennae too (don't know if it's what swishina's talking about or not) and it allows us to pick up local stations. We couldn't without that antennae. I thought everyone could with the antennae, but I could be wrong.

I'm really only interested in the women's gymnastics, women's swimming, men's swimming, and less so men's gymnastics.
