Do you always lock your door at night or when you leave - Page 2

we keep ours locked all the time. My husband used to make fun of me for this, but he does it now, too.  Of course, in our last house, the front door would blow open if you didn't lock it.

I don't lock the car doors at home but I do lock the house doors when I'm at home. And I double-check to make sure the house is locked when I leave.

the doors are locked when we're in for the day/night.  during the day if I'm home the door is usually open but once everyone comes in it gets shut and locked.  Bedtime locked and deadbolted - garage shut and locked always unless the kids are out playing and the car doors at night get locked - cause I'm paranoid that someone can (and has in the community) open unlocked doors to either rummage threw cars for valuables or open a garage door with the opener in the car - and why make anything easier for them!!

I don't keep anything valuable in my car.

I don't either - but that still doesn't stop some of them from trashing threw it just to be annoying.  I always say anyone that trys is going to be highly disappointed with what they find.  Same thing with my pocketbook - if they grab my purse and run they are going to be quite sad - pens, tissues, make up, safety pins, but hardly any $$!!ROTF.gif

Our front door is locked almost all the time. We really don't come in through our door. We enter through the garage. So we put the garage door up, then enter, and then immediately put the garage door down. So our front door is locked and our garage door is down. Sometimes if I got out the front door to water flowers, etc I'll leave it unlocked until bedtime, but all our doors are locked at night.

At bedtime, my DH checks that both doors (front and doors to screened porch) are locked and then sets the alarm. Our neighborhood is very safe so I don't mind our door being unlocked during the day, but it's just usually locked since we don't enter or exit that way.

Our doors are always locked 24/7.  Too many things happen here in NY in the neighborhoods.

I live in the south where everyone supposedly leaves their doors unlocked all the time, but I don't.  All the doors are locked when we are gone, when we go to bed at night, and usually during the day when we're home.  The only time the doors are unlocked is when we're in and out of the house doing yard work or when dd is playing outside.

We definitely lock all doors when going out and at night.  If I keep the doors open in the summer while I am home (we have evaporative cooler) I always lock the screens too.
