What did you do this week that saved you money?

-So far 2 loads of laundry out on the line to dry

-Brought in cloth bags to Target (saved 5 cents a piece)

-Bought the girls new tennis shoes for school. Famous Footwear had buy one pair get another half off. Plus I was able to use a 20% off savings pass I got in the mail.

-Turned in reading logs at Half Price Books and got two $5 coupons.

On Sunday my patient had the Sunday paper that his wife brought in to read. I mentioned that if she was just going to throw the coupons away I would love them. She gave them all to me. Never hurts to ask. She told me she was glad someone would use them.

Shop at a consigment store for the granddaughters some school clothes. A local chidlrens clothing store went out of business and they had all of their leftover stuff at the consigment store. Got some awesome deals.

And this just can't be avoided.  I never fret over the every day life things that happen and that we have to pay for.

I got free Chobani yogurt this week at the grocery store (I keep it in the fridge at work for when I remember to eat something), I baked a huge batch of zucchini muffins and put some in the freezer for later. I had a drawing commissioned and put the money straight into our savings for some land.

I braved the mall today and saved $10 because it's tax free today. Saved an additional 20% at Children's Place on clothes that are already marked down. (Youngest dd is set for fall/winter clothes except for a few more pairs of jeans). Saved 40%  at Justice.

Used the $23 in credits I had saved on my Kmart/Sears reward card.

Dried two more loads of laundry out on the line.

Only spent $10.88 at the grocery store this week on milk, fruit and yogurt. Ate out of the pantry.

Lets see, I dried a load of towels and a load of blankets on the line outside yesterday. Today I am making DH call off work (he hurt his back on his last shift and needs to rest) which will save us gas money and cost us nothing in wages because he has time in the books. Called the internet/phone/satellite service and got my bill significantly reduced (and spread out over the next couple months). Borrowed movies from the library instead of renting from the video store.

Dried all laundry on the line or drying rack.
Showered at the gym to save on the water bill.
Had tickets given to us for an amusement park, (at no charge) so we packed our cooler (to leave in the car) and then went to eat lunch at the car midday. We only spent $10 the entire day. $3 on a bottle of water to refill all day (we can't bring our own food and drinks in), and $7 on two pretzels as treats for the girls.
Borrowed DVDs instead of renting.
