DD had good impulse control while shopping - Page 2

Both of my kids are like that, but especially my DD. I'm always WANTING to buy her stuff (I live vicariously through HER clothes LOL) and she'll refuse. She'll say she doesn't need them. When she was away at college I was forever sending her links to cute things and saying "do you want this" and she'd always say no. I kept telling her it wasn't normal for a girl to not beg for clothes LOL, but she never has. She LIKES clothes, but if she already has several pairs of shorts for example, she just thinks she doesn't need more just because they're cute. My DS is pretty much the same way too, but I think it's less odd behavior in a boy than a girl. When we would do back to school shopping, I always bought very little for my kids (mostly new tennis shoes maybe) and they'd always say they had plenty of stuff. Maybe that's why I'm always shocked when people talk about spending so much on back to school shopping.
