s/o Juice or no juice - Page 2

N is 18 and still loves juice.  Although, she now prefers the lighter versions that have less calories.

Juice has vital nutrients (primary and trace) in addition to the exceptionally important vitamin C which is necessary to bone growth. DD was a failure to thrive baby, I think in part because of lactose intolerance (in part because of prenatal drug exposure) so she definitely benefits from the calories. Juice is an important drink in our house, especially since we rarely drink milk. DD frequently makes herself a fruit smoothie for breakfast.

My kids were drinking too much juice boxes.  I finally had to put the juice boxes up high because DD3 has figured out how to get into the child proof cupboard.  They don't really like water much, so I will splash a little crystal light in it.  I make it how the water enhancers water is, so it's watered down.

My kids drink milk and water mostly. Sometimes they will have OJ with breakfast. I prefer they eat fruit rather than drink it, since most juice is loaded with suger.

My kids drink juice. It is usually 100% juice like Cran-grape or Cran-apple. We used to get WIC and so they always had juicy juice. they do eat a lot of fruit and not so much juice in the summer.

Ds is 10.5 and doesn't ask for juice any more, which is surprising since he has a sweet tooth.  But it's either water, milk, once in awhile a soda.  We do limit the soda for sure.  During baseball season ds loves Gatoraide.  I usually buy the powdered orange and mix it up.

I'm a huge juice lover and it's good that we don't keep it around, I'd drink it all!
