I liked Diana in a "she's pretty and a princess" sort of way and did admire some of the charity work she did later in life. But face it , she was also a bit screwed up. She did self harm tactics for attention, she had a serious eating disorder, she had affairs herself while still married, and felt a need to do the "tabloid circuit" during her marital problems. She probably was ill suited for royal life, but since she was one of the few eligible "virgins" who had the necessary credentials, Charles was somewhat forced to marry her. She still wanted the party and nightclub life, and Charles was a boring older man who had never done those types of things. They were fairly doomed to begin with.
I probably prefer Kate's style. She's more mature, and certainly seems well groomed for the job. She is always pleasant, and appropriate which is nice. Plus most importantly, they truly seem to be in love. I hope they have a long happily married life.
