W are having lots f thunder right now. My big dogs are all in the house nd secure in their crates (it makes them feel more secure, but every clap of thunder makes Duncan bark, which then makes the othe 3 dogs bark. Ugh, needless to say, my house is not very peaceful right now! I hate thunder!

Thankfully my animals are pretty good. My brothers old dog would go crazy though. Jump on the bed, off the bed, under the bed, on the bed etc. Didn't know what to do with himself. My mom used to give him a half a zanex! LOL

Maggie shakes like a leaf and snuggles up close.  She has weird "doggy sense" and will start even before the storm arrives.  Strange dog.

He doesn't like it. If I'm home he gives me the look that says, "Please Mommy, make it stop." If we're away from home, we'll close off all the doors in the bedroom side of the house so he can go down the hall and get away from the flashes of light and feel a little more protected. I don't think it is exactly the noise that gets him. He is a trained hunter so, fire off a gun (which is a loud bang) and he just gets all excited. I think it is the rumbling part of the thunder he doesn't like - as though someone is growling at him. He must think he is in trouble.

I have one that hardly barks at anything, one little "princesss" that barks when she deems fit, and one little brat that NEVER stops barking - thunder, people, us, walking, lights, you name it that 10 pound thing barks!!  I was going to try a "thunderjacket" on him but my dh won't let me waste me $ cause he doesn't think that dog will ever be quiet!!

Shelby used to pace and pant whenever a storm was coming and during the storm. At times we had to give her Benadryl to settle her down. She was a pound dog so I don't know if she was left outside during storms. She is much calmer now and at times sleeps through them.
