Do you think the Entertainment book is worth the money?

I have only purchased one once or twice and never saved enough money to justify buying it.  If anything, it sometimes makes me spend money at places I wouldn't normally go.

What do you think?

No. I even got one as a gift and I never cracked it open.

No. The  kids' elementary school sells them as a fundraiser and I do not participate in it. Most of the places I have not heard of or are too far to drive to make the coupon worth it.

If we lived in a metro area, I'd say yes.  I bought one a couple times on sale and broke even.

I could usually find enough stuff in it to at least recop my initial investment in it. The first year we were here all 3 came home with the book and I could not justify buying more than 1 - and selling in the neighborhood is out - the whole school district goes there...LOL.  family live to far away to get any use out of it - so I had to alternate who I would buy the book from each year.  thank goodness that fundraiser is over!!

Nope. Like Kim said in a metro area it could be worth it.

I had a citipass book (like entertainment, but had way more in our area) a few years ago and really got my money's worth out of that one.

we live in a metro area and when we have bought one, it has always been worth it. One year we split it with my sister and that was the best deal because she lives in the actual city and we hardly ever venture out of the suburbs so she took those coupons and we took the ones close to us (there was no overlap in what we wanted)

No, we live in a small area, not the metro area.

No. Most of the places it could be used are a 30 minute drive away from us.  In our area, there is a "local" version that is much better. I bought 2 books for $20 and have used the coupons in it.  I like that it's not only for restaurants, but for "amusement" type businesses. We live in an area that attracts summer tourists, which means friends visit us a lot in the summer.  Having that coupon book has helped me save money while showing our guest around.

I purchase one each year from my nephew as a fund raiser for his soccer team.  I don't really want to buy it but it is one of those things you do for family.  They buy GS cookies from us so we buy the Entertainment Book from them.  I am not great about remembering to go through it and look for what places we do go to but we do use it some.  The one way that I do well with it are the $5 off coupons for a local grocery chain.  There is one for each month and  I end up using them most of the coupons.  We've used 2 or 3 restaurant coupons and a few fast coupons.  I guess I'd say that we do ok with it but once my nephew is out of high school, I doubt I will buy it again.
