What do you think of running barefoot? - Page 2

Personally I think in the long run (pun intended!) walking is better for you anyway.  I've known too many runners that injure a hip and end up walking in the long run.  I walk really fast and have no injuries at all, no strain on knees, and I don't look like I'm killing myself.  Honestly  I see people running here in the mountains and they look miserable.  I'll take a nice fast walk any day.  And running barefoot - well maybe on the beach.  I'd hate to see the tough feet of the people that do run like this on the street.  They'd need a pedi for sure at the end of the week.

Walking is better for you and this coming from a runner. Running puts extra stress on your knee and hip joints that walking doesnt. A fast paced walk for 30min is supposed to burn the same calories as a 15min run. So if you have that time and want to be nice on your joints go for a good fast walk instead. I myself can't run barefoot there is far too much junk around here on the sidewalks I would cut my feet open.
