Little bit of a fantasy....

My three youngest are away at camp this week and my 14 yr old has been gone at marching band from 8-8 everyday. I have not had this much time to myself in more than 25 years! I also started thinking how easy it would be if I only had the one child! (disclaimer: I am very happy I had all my children, this is just a bit of a fantasy,). Think of all the things I could do with him and all the money I would have, even dh commented on only about ten years and we could always spend that much time together! Of course, it ll comes screeching to a halt on Friday! The three come home mid afternoon, my 9 month old granddaughter will come for the weekend and dh will be picking up 8 yr old grandson for the weekend. On Saturday, 3 yr olf granddaughter and oldest dd will be here as well.

To me, those are mini vacations.  I enjoy the time alone or with fewer in the house, but I am just as happy when they are all here.  It's just a nice little break from the normal.

I have only one child, and you are right.  It IS easier!  Having one child wasn't a choice, but sometimes I wonder if God knew I'd be happier with only one, and gave me what I didn't even know I wanted.
