It didn't really cost me more. If anything it cost me less. If my kids didn't want what I was making they usually got a peanut butter sandwich with fresh fruit. I don't buy a lot of processed food so I wasn't feeding them corndogs, tater tots, or chicken nuggets or anything like that which might be more expensive. They were getting simple, but wholesome food that didn't really cost that much and we already had on hand. So it was easy, and affordable, and it was following my pediatrician's guidelines of not making food an issue.
