Canning Pickles

Can pickles actually be canned? I was looking it up and have seen stuff for putting them in the fridge but can't they be canned for the pantry or something?

Yes, they can be canned. All the ones I've ever had were canned instead of just the refrigerated kind. I've never personally done them, but my mom, MIL, and all the people of that generation we know canned them. You can do sweet, dill or bread and butter ones. You can probably find recipes or instructions on line.

Your county university extension office will have tons of free printed recipes. They also (usually) have telephone support if you have questions.

I use to can pickles all of time. You can make bread and butter, dill, brim (my dad's all time favorite) and sweet pickles.
