Need YOUR help to decorate a motorhome

We just bought an older, used but new to us motor home. It has vinyl wood floors, creme colored curtains. Every color in it is pretty bland, either a creme or light light blue color on everything.  We are going camping for the first time in it with family this weekend and I want it to look more "inviting".  I have been going thru my house trying to find stuff I can use but having no luck.

There are hooks in several places in the kitchen so I put my "chef" oven mits and stuff like that in there.  No where to really hang anything else..

Anyone have any ideas for me?

Thanks

If you paint anything, use exterior paint.

Fabric (cushions, pillows, new curtains, etc) will go a long way when it comes to making something feel homier.

Take a look at what you have for storage and eek out places for more. Organize it well and keep place to add good old fashioned board and card games to also help keep the family together and wanting to be in close quarters instead of feeling like they need more space.

I agree with changing the curtains and adding throw pillows.  Something bright and cheery.  They have cheap curtains at the Dollar General Store.

What about a little wreath on the inside of the door?

A basket or a vase of flowers.

Magnets on the fridge.

They have cute seasonal items at The Christmas Tree Shoppe.  I found some cute summer themed items there.

I love command strips for everything.  They are easy to take off.  You can easily hang up pictures or decor with them.

I say once you get all your stuff in there, you'll be happy to have a bland background. Motorhomes can get to looking cluttered rather quickly. I'd go on the camping trip then get your ideas once you're out there and using the space. You'll probably also have a chance to see what other people have done with theirs. Like decorating a house, these things take time.

Be very careful about things that are sharp or aren't secured correctly. Also, don't add too much weight until you're used to using the unit.

Thanks! I will have to try the command stuff again. I hung pictures with them a while back and after a month all the picts fell down.

I find that if you live in an area with higher humidity they don't hold up at all. I used them one year after the holidays to do some redecorating, once summer hit and the humidity skyrocketed everything came crashing down. Other than temporary Christmas decorations I think they're pretty useless.

Command Strips/Hooks are great and they come in huge varieties for all types of weights/accessories. My SIL has a camper and her "theme" is Palm Trees/Tropical. Like Cookie2 said it takes time and hers has evolved. I did notice some of the first things she put on hers was family photos, and hung a few pictures she had taken of her garden/flowers. Definitely made it more inviting. I'd also get one of those flameless candles to add ambience and coziness.

Happy Camping!
