Anyone else tight money wise the rest of the money and want in on a spending freeze?

I am only going to buy:

gas for the van

any other school supplies that creep up that they may need

basics at Aldi's: bread, yogurt, fruit, eggs and milk if I run out

Gift card for a present

cell phone for youngest, but it will be free after rebate

I'm in.

The only thing I will buy the rest of the month is

basic groceries

gas for cars

I do need to buy the boys each two pairs of pants but I already have money budgeted for that.

Thats it.

I'm in! I was just thinking that I need to curb the $5 here, $10 here type purchases. A pre-fall fast for the month sounds perfect, my spending seems to increase in the fall so entering into it with a very frugal frame of mind will probably be helpful.

-My mortgage and utility bills are still due for the month

-Gas for the vehicles, and I'll try to minimize unnecessary driving

-Groceries, but I have a stocked pantry and freezer, I can make it easily with just buying milk, bread, and other essentials to round that out (saying and doing are two different things though!)

-I have a few expenditures for the garage approaching this month as well, but money for that has already been long budgeted and is set aside

I need to do this too.  Just spent so much money on stocking food for N and R at college.  With just Dh and me at home, I shouldn't need much food.

If you have a JcPenneys near you, they're doing free haircuts for kids this month.

I'm in.   I need to spend as little as possible the rest of the month as we have some upcoming expenses I need to save for.

we're in too!  I haven't been able to be on much due to work/kids, but my hubbie and I have been talking about this a lot lately!  He has been working two jobs all summer and I have taken a promotion, and we are finally getting back on track with our bills.

Our spending freeze will include:

-gas x 2 vehicles-trying to limit trips and use our van vs. the truck if possible

-sticking to a meal plan

-trying to look around for what we already have that can be used instead of buying something new

We have also made a list of several items we can sell to make some extra money and pay off a couple bills.

Here we go!
