Are your kids getting into the routine of waking up early?

My oldest is not a morning person. She started waking up on her own at 6:30 the last couple days by setting her alarm on her cell.

School doesn't start until after Labor Day, so we are still sleeping in right now. It really won't do us any good to practice the early waking anyway, as my ex gets the girls over Labor Day weekend. They stay up late and get up when they want, especially if they are camping.

My oldest is not a morning person at all, but both girls get up great for school and we never have any trouble. The first day will be tiring but excitement will keep them going, then they will be ready for bed that night and fall asleep quickly so the routine will be quickly established.

Having teens, we just wing it when school starts.  I think they will have an easier time than me!! redface.gif

Getting up, yes. Early, no. I am not ready myself to be getting up at flipping 5:30 to get her up. I am waking her daily and making her get ready in an hour.

school starts the 27th for us and last week and this week all of a sudden nobody can get up before 11:00 !!!  Really, they don't go to bed too late anyway but there is just so much morning sleeping going on here - I'm besides myself!! LOL

Yes.  Over the past month I've been getting myself and dd up a little earlier each week.  I've bumped it back about an hour each week.  I'm now getting myself up at 6 a.m. and getting dd up at 7 a.m.  (I've also had dd going to bed earlier this week).  When dd returns to school next week, I'll be getting up at 5:15 a.m. and dd will be getting up at 6:15 a.m.  I sure do miss sleeping in.

Nope. I'm not going to bother, because I am still hoping for the late (10:15) K schedule.

8:00 is when I have been waking her up. School is 9:30 so I can let her sleep a bit. We are on a late schedule.

I've already started getting up earlier myself, my kids are little and usually up by 7:30, so I'm the one that needs to get back into the routine. We start next Wed, so next week I am up at 6 am and make sure the kids are up at 7, we leave the house at 8.

Swishina, we had the late class schedule for TK last year, ds went 10-2:20. It was great!

School started on 13th.  DD5 goes to bed at 6:45 and wakes up around 6.  First 2 days we woke her up, past 3 days she wakes up and comes down all by herself. She has to leave home at 7.15.

Poor poor baby and mommy.  She asked the first day, "why are you waking me up at night?"
