weight loss supplements and programs - Page 2

I've posted on this topic before. I did WW for years (in person meetings) with no success. I also did low carb, Susan Powter, kickboxing, personal trainer, South Beach, etc. etc.

I started Myfitnesspal.com last May & lost 42 lbs by November. I have kept it off since then. I still track all my calories/exercise. It has worked for me. I also learned that pasta and rice are NOT my friend. I used to have pasta once a week & rice a frequent side dish. I might have pasta once a month now, and rice much less frequently also. Instead of formatting a meal like this:

Protein (chicken/ beef/ pork/fish)

starchy side dish (rice, potato, corn, noodles)

veggie (broccoli, salad, etc.)

I format it more like this:

Protein

Veggie (broccoli, cauliflower, snow peas, roasted peppers, maybe a starchy veggie like corn or peas)

Salad

If I do have a starchy side dish, I measure a small amount (1/2 c of rice, for example).

For me WW has worked. Started in '97 and dropped 34 lbs. and kept it off until I had my son late in '04. Went back on in early '05 and lost the baby weight and then some dropping 65 lbs. Then went back on in '08 after my daughter was born. So technically (not incl. baby weight) I have been Lifetime Member since 1997. This program works for me. I like the feeling of solidarity and strength with the other members. Meetings are so important and members who attend take off more weight and keep it off. Yet each person has to find out what works for them. WW works for me and I still have pizza, pasta, steak, wine etc....I just choose better now. And in the last lost 1/2 to 2 pds a week.

I think for anyone who has ever had a weight issue is we did not put the weight on in a short amount of time but when we decide to lose it we want it off NOW and that never happens and it never comes off as fast as we would like.

Tried weight loss phen-phen many moons ago to no success, grapefruit diet, rice diet, etc.....None ever worked.

Good luck in whatever you choose to do to improve your health.

I did Medifast and had a lot of success.  It is a little pricey, and is (almost) all processed food.  I had gotten to a place (mentally) where I just needed something very strict, that was spelled out clearly, though.  If a diet had given me an inch, I would have taken a mile.....and gained 10 pounds on my trip.

Medifast works, and it works fairly quickly (but at a healthy rate).  I was active on their forum, and still check in from time to time, to keep me focused and on track (weight-wise).

It is definitely not what I would consider a nice, natural diet - but drastic times were calling for drastic measures.  It was one of the best choices I have made.

I joined a weight loss clinic with a groupon a few months ago. Of course after the groupon was spent, it turned very expensive. $35 a week for Phentermine, which is basically Meth! Lol. I lost 20lbs in 2 months, I then stopped, gained it all back and probably 10lbs more. It's all about exercise and cutting out the "crap" food. I love good and crap food. It's all about willpower.

I lost weight on Weight Watchers. After 2nd dd I couldn't afford it. I need to just do it myself.
