Have you ever heard of Fels Naptha? Zote?

I used Fels Naptha soap for a lot of tough cleaning jobs - either removing laundry stains or just cleaning my hands after working outside. When I moved, I left mine behind. Why bother packing a bar of soap, right? I could always buy more, right?

Nope. Apparently no one here in MS has heard of Fels Naptha soap. Ugh! I'm going to have to mail order it.

So I look on-line for a source and my search results also come back with a laundry soap called "Zote", which I haven't ever heard of. I don't think the two products are all that similar, though.

Have you heard of either one? Used them?

I have heard that zote can be used in place of fels naptha (in the homemade laundry threads when I was researching detergents) but I have never seen that one around here. I can always find Fels Naptha at Wal-Mart and at Harris Teeter (do you have tone in MS?) . Target does not carry it...that I know (and don't like frown.gif )

I had to send Fels Naptha bar one time with one of my kids to something (some sort of camp or what not) but they never used it. I tried using it and didn't care for it myself, but maybe I didn't use it the right way or something.

I've seen Fels Naptha in soap recipes, but never found it for sale anywhere.  Never used it myself.

I know it fels naptha is used in many homemade laundry soap recipes I have seen.  (I haven't tried any of them, because we have an HE washer, and I don't trust them, yet.)  The blogs always say you can get it on Amazon.

Not clue what Zote is.

Again, it depends on the region. My WalMart, CVS, Walgreens, etc doesn't carry it. When I ask they say they have never heard of it.

I could find it easily in CA and ID.

Next time I go to the store I'll keep an eye out. If I see it I will grab it and send it to you.

I buy fels naptha at walmart, along with washing soda. I find it in the general cleaning aisle, not with the laundry detergent.

OMG! I found it! At yet a different WalMart. The Fels Naptha was right there on the shelf while I was looking for something else. Whew!

I swear my new secret when I can't locate a source is to complain on this board and then it will magically appear. First the wreaths and now the Fels Naptha.

Have I mentioned yet that I can't find a decent local coffee roaster? I'm dying for a decent cup of coffee. Dear Santa ...
