Has anyone ever bought glasses online?

I just don't understand how that can work? How do you get them adjusted? It usually takes me 3 or 4 trips to get my new glasses feeling right. Also, how do you know which ones will look good without trying them on?

I use Zenni Optical.  I get my "nice" pair from the ophthalmologist, and get extras from Zenni.

I just use their site to upload a photo of myself, and then it shows what the glasses look like (more or less) on you.

You have to have your pupillary distance, though.  I just get my eye dr to write it down, on my prescription, when I have my exams.

I have never had problems with getting them adjusted.

I've bought my contacts on-line but for convenience, I find Costco to be the better deal.

When I buy glasses, I tend to buy two pairs at once so I can use one pair for spare parts if needed or easily switch to the other frames without that adjustment period. I tend to look for those 2-for-1 deals.

I 2nd  what  Addimom  just said. I've bought a spare pair of those trendy plastic framed glasses from Zenni for $19.00 complete with lenses.Dh broke his prescription sunglasses that he paid over $200 for and wanted to replace them, but i convinced him to try Zenni. He was skeptical about the quality, but for $39 he got a pair he loves and gets lots of compliments on them.

Coastal.com had a promotion for free glasses. I took advantage of it and i'm really happy with them!  I've never had a problem getting them adjusted.

So, how do you all get them adjusted? Anyone do bifocals?

Zenni claims to do bifocals. I am single vision lenses so i never had to do bifocals. Check their website www.zennioptical.com  for more info. As for adjustments,i just take them to the nearest Optical place and they have never questioned me. I have heard that if you have a Costco or Sam's club membership they will do it there also with no questions. This last free pair i got off Coastal.com didn't need any adjusting at all (surprisingly!). It's fun to try on the different frames with a pic of yourself. I like that better, because for me, i cannot see well without my glasses on very well. So when i try frames on in stores, i cannot see that well to know how they look from a distance and i'm always worried i will later dislike them when i can see them better. I love the cheaper prices too. I'm so tired of paying over $200 for a pair of glasses.

I just don't trust cheap glasses paces. We have had so many problems with the mall type places and the prescription not being right. I don't trust our eyesight to anyone but the optometrist.

I can understand how you feel.I do it mostly because we don't have insurance coverage for glasses and with 4 of us in the house, that adds up fast.
