I think I told you awhile back that you should give selling them a try. smile.gif

I like that they have a purpose especially the garden themed one. Though I just did a GS booth at the fair and I could have used them there as paper weights. You never will know until you try.

You are so talented!!  You must try.  I am pretty sure that it will sell.  You must try!

Those are incredible! I agree with Karen, the animals ones are especially nice and original.  I would call around to gift shops, or independently owned gas stations etc and see if you can work out a consignment deal.

I've never thought to do College or school logos. Those aren't copyrite protected are they? The rocks vary in size,The snake, raccoon and bunny are larger then my hand.I am posting another pic of the stones/rocks next to a coin and toenail clippers so you can see the size difference.I have a relative that just opened a store of antiques and thrift store type items. Maybe i might ask him and atleast see if people show an interest?

Yeah, I suggested the school logo things because I know both of my kids would love those. I'm not sure if they're copyright protected or not, but if you're just doing local sales and making them hand drawn I would "think" you'd be okay.

Crafter here.  I sell painted glassware.  Good advice on the college logos. Yes, they are copyright protected but nobody seems to care at the craft shows I do.  Good luck with it.  The good thing about your inventory is that it won't expire.  You can carry over merchandise from season to season.  The more the rock has a theme... school logo, profession, hobby, holiday, special interest.... the more likely it will appeal to someone and sell.  Also, take special orders if you can with payment up front.

Sometimes you won't sell much because the craft show itself is a dud and not enough people attended. Don't get discouraged.  Ask other crafters what the good shows are, they will tell you.

Keep painting, it is a learned skill.  The more you do it, the better your work will be.  Don't be afraid to experiment and fail once in awhile to get better.  Keep us posted on things :-)

Thanks Mary. I feel like the more i do them, i am getting a little better at knowing what brush stroke looks best or what size brush is best, etc. I've got 3 really awesome illustrated books that have helped me follow along to create certain paintings. I hope to build on my skills from there. I'm not very good at drawing though and these books say it is best to sketch out what you want to paint on the rock first. I've got a long winter to work on them more. I go in spurts and paint a bunch and then need a break to read a book or something.

I also love the animal ones!  If it were priced right, I could see myself buying one.  I know I could do a basic ladybug, but I would not even attempt the animals you have (one of my requirements for anything I buy at a craft fair, could I, would I, be able to do this myself...)

I have no clue what you should charge, but I love to see these when you post them on FB.  You are REALLY talented.  I say go for it!  :)
