Southern question: Is there an insect or critter that sounds like a duck? - Page 2

Oh cookie, I forgot to add...

when we first moved to FL and there after, we had tons of these little greenish tree frogs stuck on our windows at night, I suppose getting bugs from the light inside our house.  they did manage to get in, the bathroom area the most.  I don't mind the frogs, but it took some getting used to.

Now, get me on roaches.... shiver..... cannot get used to that.

Do you have fire ants there?

We have ants. DD is particularly sensitive to their bite. I haven't been bothered by one yet. I take care of the hills on the property but they are everywhere else you go here. We learn to just avoid them.

As long as the roaches stay outside, I'm okay. When they try to come inside, we battle to the death.

In the South, with my little kids who drop food all the time , every where - we had ants and tiny roaches.  We tried every thing to battle it out, but nothing worked.  Now for the past 3 years, we have pest control guys come and spray once in 3 months.  This helps a lot and have not seen ants and roaches.
