Back to school clothes organization

Did you go through the kid's closets for back to school?  I got rid of 3 garbage bags of clothes yesterday.  We had an entire bag of jeans which the girls refuse to wear.  They were all for dd9 who liked the idea of jeans but then wouldn't end up wearing them to school because they are uncomfortable.

I will be on the lookout for long sleeve tops but otherwise we are good to go for fall.

I just started going through minis closet this morning.  she wears uniforms, so that is easy.  but it's getting rid of the clutter of the rest of the clothes that she'll only wear on the weekends....  she has far too many.

DD likes the idea of jeans as well, but refuses to wear them.  cause they don't feel nice!  that's ok, but I find that leggings wear out far to fast.

I just started!  Mine don't go to "school" yet but L starts real pre-k this year.  I love purging in the fall... to me there's something a little wonderful about starting a new year and I usually equate that with fall.  Fall is also a really busy time for my husband work-wise so it gives me extra time after the little ones are in bed to get stuff done.  I always seem to get a lot more done without DH around to distract me smile.gif

On my list of things to do this week.

I did this last week before back to school shopping.  I only had a buy two pairs of jeans, a pair of shoes and a lightweight jacket so I was pretty happy.

I have a bag of clothes that he's outgrown that I'm passing on to his little cousin.

I found a consignment store to take the outgrown clothes.  I'm thrilled.  It is better than sending them all to goodwill.

I also bought a few tops for my oldest.

Better to wait a month. Mainly because September is really nice weather wise. If I wait until October I can switch over the closet to just fall and winter stuff.

Grammy is taking her school clothes shopping today. Not exactly sure what she will end up with.

I tend to do a purge every 4 months. My kid has been so slow to grow out of things.
