Egg shells - what do you do with them?

What do you do with your egg shells?

Mine go out in the garden or flower beds. Though in was reading you could crush them up and feed them to your chickens ... I just don't see that realistically happening in my world.

That sounds a bit cannibalistic to me!

I'm not sure if I am supposed to do this, but mine go in the garbage disposable.  I would love to have a compost pile, but Dh doesn't really want one (and he's the yard person).

Other than the time I made homemade sidewalk chalk, I throw them in the trash.

Your soil really gets a boost when you add them into the ground. I break mine up but if that bugs you, you can actually grind them and never know the difference.

They go in the city provided yardie that gets picked up on trash days. Then it goes to the city compost pile.

Mine go in the garbage disposal or trash because we don't have a compost pile (no garden).  When I was a kid, my parents would lightly crush them and then spread them around the perimeter of the garden as slugs will not cross the egg shells.

Mix with coffee grounds and feed to my rose bush.
