Have you tried on the kids fall and winter clothes yet?

Well nows the time so you can see what you may or may not need.

All three of my kids can still wear their winter coats so I won't need to purchase those at all. Dd has several pairs of pants and middle ds has tons of older ds's long sleeve t's for winter.

Nows the time to make a list of what you will need and start purchasing items when you see a good sale and it's not one large expense at once.

They hardly have anything.  M has two pairs of pants, one is too big, and some sweatshirts.  Baby boy has 2 long-sleeved shirts, a pair of pants, and a sweatshirt.

I need to do this for my youngest DD.

I just unpacked 2+ tubs of clothes for DD3 last week. I haven't unpacked DS4 size 5 tub because he has tons in his closet and dresser that still fit. DD11 will need more shirts. I am not sure yet if I have a coat for DD3 but I think I do. I def have coats in the next 3 sizes for DS4 and DD11 has 2 from last year that still fit.

Yes. i did this a couple of weeks back. DS 4 has all of DS 7 clothes so he's set with everything except shoes! DS 7 is another story, we had to go shopping for school clothes including winter stuff. I found both of my boys skipped a shoe size and went up 2 sizes since school ended. eek.gif They were wearing flip flops pretty much all summer! LOL! biggrin.gif

Yes.  I need long sleeve tops and a ski jacket for my oldest.

No, we haven't done this yet but we need to.  I know with my younger dd, nothing will fit her.  She grew a ton over the summer.  My older dd may fit into some of the stuff the younger one outgrew.  But she has very different taste in clothes so often she won't wear the stuff her sister outgrew.  Luckily for us, grandma took the girls shopping over the weekend and bought them lots of jeans and tops.  I scored a couple of really nice Northface jackets on clearance for a great price.  One was a fleece and one was a heavy winter coat so the younger daughter will get those and my older daughter will get the hand me downs.  I know it sounds funny but in our house, the hand me downs go from the younger child (who is larger) to the older child who is tiny.  I also bought really cute fashion type winter jackets at Aero on clearance at the end of the winter and they will get those as part of their holiday gifts.  They aren't warm enough to be their main winter coats though.  I do have a bin of stuff to go through so hopefully we will get to that this weekend.

I had dd do this at the beginning of July.  Since many teachers keep their a/cs set to "meat locker", dd has to wear jeans to school to stay warm (she even carries a hoodie).  I've already taken care of the jeans, but she probably needs a couple of more hoodies for winter.  Her heavy winter jacket still fits.

yes. we did this sunday that just passed...all coats etc still fit from last year. DS has new boots( size 18) so we are hoping his feet have finally stopped growing( he is 17 1/2) so we shall not have to go to buffalo for another larger pair part way through winter!
