Round Steaks

Thread Starter

I have a bunch of round steaks that were given to me recently. I have never cooked them before and I am asking  for some creative yet simple ways to cook it. Whether it be by itself or in a dish. I dont want it to go to waste :)

Thanks in advance!

I cook mine 2 ways and always have it the same. I either brown it slightly then cook in a pressure cooker with a can of beef consume and basic seasoning (salt pepper garlic onion) for 20 min or I brown slightly then cook in the crock pot for about 3 hours or so with a can of beef consume and basic seasoning. I make a yummy gravy from the juices/consume and serve with plain rice and a veggie. It is my all time favorite meal from childhood and still is today. My mom makes it in the pressure cooker like I do but will break it up stir it into homemade gravy and mix with egg noodles. She will also make it (again in the pressure cooker) with green peppers, onions, garlic and tomotoes for swiss steak. She serves that with white rice adn a veggie. My aunt cooks it in the pressure cooker then breaks it up and adds spanish seasonings and eats it is tortilla shells.

I like to cook mine in the crock-pot with Campbells french onion soup. If I am going to have mashed potatoes, i will cook the steak in the crock-pot with cream of mushroom or onion soup. This makes an awesome gravy. The trick I have learn with round steak, is to cook in long and slow.

My mom used to make a Beef Rouladen.  This is a very similar recipe to the one she used:

It turned out very tender.
