Should we have a "home maintenance" sub-forum?

Should we have a sub-forum dedicated to home maintenance issues? How to pick out flooring? Furniture? Sharing remodeling ideas and results? What to do when the A/C conks out?

We have a sub-forum dedicated to the kitchen and cooking. What about the rest of what I do all day long? Cleaning, laundry and regular home maintenance?

I would enjoy that!  I know we used to have one more like cleaning, etc. but it was tied to another forum.  I would enjoy having a dedicated home sub forum.

I think that is a great idea. :)

We did have something similar in the past and it didn't fare too well.

We do have Your creative Side- decorating tips and basic home ideas could go there.

Simple & Green could house more cleaning tips or household issues.

And don't forget about Spending less, saving more and all of it's sub forums!

Not to promote another website OVER this fabulous site, but a great place to go for information like that - information where people have a LOT of experience for ALL types of home improvements, discussions about materials, before/after photos, etc., you should check out www.thathomesite.com.  It is a part of the gardenweb forums, and you have to pay if you want to post. But, you can read it for free. Forums are divided into subgroups like kitchens, baths, roofing, decks and patios, appliances, furnaces, plumbing - everything you can think of.

If I really want information about that kind of stuff, that is where I go.

I must be the only person who doesn't care about subforums or extra categories at all. I just hit new posts so it doesn't whatever forum it's in. I'd be happy with just one big forum.

I agree!

Well, I agree with that. As far as I'm concerned, everything except scrapbooking and coupons could be under "chit chat" since I always hit "new posts" anyway. I figured I'd ask, though, since the sub-forums must matter to someone.

I think at one point we added a lot of subforums, but now are scaling back a little bit and trying to avoid adding anything new.

When it comes to posts like "I repaired my screen door myself" or "My A/C stopped working" or "How do I get my toilet to stop running" - where should we put them? Under "Kitchen Chatter"?
