Dollar Tree Coupons...

Have any of you tried using coupons at Dollar Tree yet? I've been wanting to try it but have been reading some mixed reviews on using them there. Guess I'm a chicken.

Yes, I've used many. And it's the first week that the majority of stores are taking them, so bear with them. As it is such a new thing, they are pretty careful about what they are accepting. They do not have a setup where they just scan in the coupon. They have to press F7, answer regarding whether it is a food item (for tax purposes) and hand enter in the amount on their registers. This means they look at each one very carefully. So, make sure you have the correct item and that it meets any restrictions that the coupon may have, so as not to waste your time or theirs through the checkout process. Also keep in mind that they only accept 2 internet printed coupons PER TRANSACTION. So if you have quite of few of them, you'll have make several purchases and other customers in line aren't too keen on waiting. As employees and customers get used to this new idea of taking coupons there, things will go a lot smoother. I encourage you to try it, as I have found many good deals, and quite a few FREE items as well. If you want to see some of the things I've found so far and some of the matching coupons I found so far, feel free to check out my album here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.135388353272522.39552.100004040736827&type=3

Wow, that's a lot of name brands I didn't realize they had! i don't think my local Dollar Tree has all of that but I'm sure it has some. I've been reading a up on a lot of the coupon blogs about the coupon match ups for DT. Some stores apparentely won't take $1 off coupons. Hope my store will! Thanks for your help. :)

Wow, I had no idea Dollar Tree was taking coupons.  I'll have to ask if mind takes them next time I am there.

It IS a lot of name brands, and not all DT stores have exactly the same product. I have 4 DT stores very close to where I get out and about, and each of them has something none of the others have. So if you have multiple stores in your area, check them all out and consider making a list/whatever of which stores have what, so you can refer back to it. :D

I think the confusion regarding $1 off coupons is because of #4 on the list of terms and conditions in DT's coupon policy. Link below:

http://www.dollartree.com/custserv/custserv.jsp?pageName=TermsConditions

As long as the coupon does not say the word "free" on it, as in "BOGO, B2GO/etc.", or simply "free xxxxx"/where they would be required to enter an amount, then they should accept it

However #9 allows them to refuse any coupon they want for any reason. Period.

I recommend printing this policy out, and if there is a question, kindly refer to it with the store manager, who makes the final decision on whether to accept it or not.

I was able to use $1 off coupons just fine at several DT stores in my area. You will still need to pay tax on any taxable items though.

GOOD LUCK!!

PS I added even more photos of stuff I found at my most recent trip to another DT store in my area.
