Flu Shot - Page 2

Not sure if I am or not! I don't work with the public as much at the law office as I did at the loan company.

I'm 48. Never had the shot, never had the flu. My sister gets a flu shot every year. Every year, she gets the flu.

My kids get the flu mist every year. They got it two weeks ago.

I normally don't get the flu shot, b/c I really don't like shots. However, last year I got the flu and I swore that I would get the shot from now on. I'll be getting it this year!

yes the kids do, but one of them usually winds up with a mild case of it anyway rolleyes.gif

No way. I used to get a flu shot every year and got the flu every year.

The worst case of the flu I ever had, I came down with two weeks after getting a flu shot.

Haven't had a flu shot in 16 years, and have had the flu twice since I quit taking the shot, both times mild cases.

I'm not saying that the shot CAUSED my flu, but it sure as hell didn't prevent it.

So it seems with many of you, you also feel that the flu shot can at least give you a mild case of the flu.  R feels the same way and she says it just isn't worth it.  It must affect people in different ways.

We'll be getting them.  I have to get mine before the baby comes, so she'll be protected as well.

We get them.  Kids are signed-up to get theirs Sept. 28th.

DH has to have one for work...public health nurses come into the plant to do them...no shot...no work until you do.

DS,DD and I......I will NOT get the shot...its up to both kids whether or not they want to get one...i will take them if they do( i know DD will not as she hates needles as much as i do).

Check out the facts at the CDC's site:  http://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/qa/misconceptions.htm.  The shots they give out (at least now... who knows about years ago) do not have live virus in them so you cannot get the flu by getting a flu shot.

Every year I get the flu shot with no issues.  My DS2 has to get the flu vacine because he has asmtha (I think he has to do the kind up the nose... I prefer a shot).  DH and my other two also get the shot.
