Have you turned on your heat yet?

Yesterday DH was complaining that it was hot in the house when he got home.  I didn't touch the thermostat, it was programed to be at 77 degrees (from when it was on cool), I guess he had turned the heat on in the morning, so I was heating my house all day yesterday.  If I would have known he turned on the heat I would have lowered the temp.

Heck, no.  Heat won't go on until November (I hope).

Nope.

We run our heater on and off all year to break the damp chill from coastal fog (and to just help keep the damp under control in the closets, the only dry air we get is from the heater)

We've started with the electric heat and will probably start the pellet stove (in basement) next week.  It's gotten down to low 40s at night and that's just too cold for us!  The basement will mold/mildew if we don't start the pellet stove soon... ick.

We'll start turning the heat on when the daytime doesn't warm the house up beyond the low 60s. I don't care if it gets frigid at night, but there's something awful about coming home after a long day and opening the door into what feels colder than the outdoor air you were just in. With the pellet stove we'll probably just turn it on occasionally in the evenings, and hopefully won't be running it consistently until November. We'll see though, I think this winter is going to be BAD.

I don't think it has kicked on yet. It never actually gets turned off, it just stays at 66 all the time (we do not have central air)

No,usually it's several more months before we have to turn it on.

We have had some pretty chilly nights but the heats has not been used yet. However, hubby DID clean and light my furnace just in case I would need it to fall back on at night time. I am not too hip on having my heat on in September but when its damp, chilly and windy it makes a person feel pretty bad sometimes.
