Apps for Organization

Does anyone use any apps for organization, menu planning, list etc that are helpful to you?  I'm looking for something like that.

I use Astrid for my "to-do" list. I would be interested in an app for menu planning, as well!

I used to be a big to-do list person. Now I just put everything on Google calendar. Super easy! Reminders feed right to my smart phone.

I still use a paper grocery list because it is easy for hubby and DD to add to it.

I don't do meal planning because I use theme nights. I pretty much can predict what I'm going to cook based on the ingredients I have on hand and the theme for that evening.

I am trying out Pepperplate as a meal planning app. You have to enter all your recipes (on the computer) and it seems like you can't click on the recipe in your calendar-you just see what your cooking and then go look up the recipe in the recipes tab. I don't like that.

I'm also looking into creating a separate calendar in the calendar app. There's a slot for a URL so I can just click through to a recipe if it's something online. I menu plan with new recipes from pinterest so that's helpful.

Our system this year has been GREAT.  I purchased this 11×14 magnetic whiteboard to go on our fridge.  Anytime anyone in our family thinks of something we need to pick up at the grocery store, it gets added to the whiteboard.  Whenever I think of it, I snap a photo of the whiteboard with my phone. That way, I’ve got all the information I need with me at all times.  If my dh stops at the store on his way home from work, I just text him the photo.

No tearing off lists necessary!   After grocery shopping, erase the list on your whiteboard and start all over again.

I'm still a paper list girl. I just got a smartphone and I'm too hard headed to adjust to the apps quickly lol

I probably should make more of an effort to climb up on the technology bandwagon, I have notebooks and post-its everywhere!  Fortunately/unfortunately I do all the grocery shopping and errands so nothing gets lost in translation between different people.

Bills, household runnings, maintenance schedules are a bit more streamlined. All of those are in very detailed, very organized binders. Again, I handle everything so the system only has to please and make sense to me.

I am also still a paper and pen gal. I can't help it...I love the satisfaction of writing something down and then crossing it off the list redface.gif

Hubby loves Google calendar and utilizes it for work.

I do however really like Kim's whiteboard idea- snap the pic and there you go!

I love my paper grocery list, but everything else is on my phone.  need to get a white board for the kids to remember to tell us things or get things for school projects.

I do a combination of things. I have a few spreadsheest in Google Docs with my menu, future menu thoughts, a list of what is on sale by store, and an inventory of what I have on hand in the house. I can access all of that with the Google Drive app.

I make menus based on the above but I use Cozi for a family calendar. DH and I both hav ethe Cozi app so I can just put something on the shopping list and he can get it from the store. Another thing I like is that I can put everyone's schedules in there. Then I have the option to view all of them or any combination of them at a time. They are also color coded so you know quickly who is who.

I have a chalkboard in the kitchen too for lists and notes and stuff, but I'm more of a pen and paper list girl too.  I don't have a "smart" phone so apps are not my thing.
