Hello! I'm Lisa, and my DH joined the Navy right out of HS. He served six years, and then got out. We've been married since Dec. 2002, one month after he joined the Guard while in Puerto Rico visiting his relatives. (I like to kid him that I only married him AFTER he joined the military! ) My DH should be getting out of the Guard by the end of the summer...medical discharge. I will hate to see our benefits go, but if he's not able to finish out his term, then he's not. Just makes me sad to see him get passed up for any type of pension after serving in two branches of the military.

My Mom's 6 brothers were all military, and all retired military now. My Dad was in the Air Force before I was born, so I was never technically a "military brat", and have never lived on a base. (Although I'd think it would be cool!)

Pensacola was great because of the beaches, we have a boat so we love it on the water. Naples was good when I look back at it. It was hard when we were there, but wow what an experience.

Hi everyone! I'm Kristin. DH is Air Force, going on 12 years now. He's an F-16 pilotat Luke AFB in Glendale, AZ (west side of Phoenix). We have two beautiful girls, ages 6 and 4. We married in '98 while he was stationed at Whiteman AFB (Missouri) as an engineer on the B-2 Bomber. He then got accepted to pilot training and we moved to Wichita Falls (Sheppard AFB) to go through the ENJJPT pilot training. A little over a year later, we made our first move to Luke for his F-16 training, had our oldest daughter, and when she was three months old, we left for his first F-16 assignment, Aviano AB in Northern Italy. It was a wonderful assignment, full of great friends, fun travel and amazing wine. We had our youngest daughter there and left in '04 to come back to Phoenix. We should be leaving AZ next spring and are hoping to go back to another active duty assignment back at Aviano or Spangdahlem AB in Germany!

Ciao!

Hello ladies!! I'm Chrissy, my DH is in the Coast Guard (8 years in Aug). We have 2 daughters (ages 3 and 14 months) We are stationed at Air Station Sacramento. He works on C-130's (AET, navigator, radio, TSO). Our tour is up next summer, but we don't know where we're going yet. We were stationed in Elizabeth City, NC before this, where our oldest DD was born. It was a nice experience living on the East Coast since we are both California natives. We met in high school and have been together for about 12 years, married for 6 of those. Looking forward to chatting with you guys.

Hi, I'm Tina and my husband has been in the army for 11years and we've been married for almost 9 (our anniversary is June 6). I grew up civilian and had no idea what I was getting into by marrying a military man. He went to Korea when my oldest was just 2 months old and was gone for a year. He also went to Iraq in 2004 for a year (For those of you going through this deployment now my heart goes out to you). We have been stationed at Ft. Carson,CO (my homestate! miss it!), Ft. Hood, TX, Ft. Sill, OK and now he is going to S. Carolina to train as a recruiter and then in about 2-3 months we will be PCSing again to wherever they send us. It was very hard in the beginning. I think as women we want stability and in the military that is very hard. But I have adjusted and now I know that I need to get involved with other women and build my own stability and friends through PWOC, MOPS, chuch, storytime at the library, my girls school PTA, etc. I totally love and support my husband and all the military families have my prayer and thanks.

Ah good for you! You have yourself your own little Maverick!!! My husband flies for the navy. He flies the E-6, a much different aircraft than the fighters!

We lived in Naples, Italy. Loved it there and have lots of friends and family in Germany.

Looking forward to learning more about you!

Good for you. That is my take on it too. What gets me through are my connections with moms and women through The MOMS Club and my involvement in my sons' preschools.

Welcome to the forum. I look forward to getting to know you better!
