wallpaper removal

Hey all. I remember reading about a homemade solution for easy wallpaper removal. Does anyone know what it is. I think you sprayed it on and let it soak, and the wallpaper started coming off by itself. TIA!

liquid fabric softner. I think I used generic. Be sure and let the wall dry really well before you put the new stuff on.

My mom has used one of those high-pressured steamers too - if you don't have one, see if you can borrow one. You might be able to rent one at Lowes or Home Depot....

Have fun!

I'm taken my bathroom wallpaper off. Get a spray bottle and pour some fabric softer in and then hot water. Spray on wallpaper and start to peel it off( when its wet) It works great and smells good:D

The spray bottle works really well and it's easy. You can also buy one of those little tools that scores the paper and allows the fabric softener/water to get 'in there'. We've always had good luck with this method but it just depends on the paper you're trying to get off.

I have to agree with the Fabric Softener method, I'm planning on trying it the next time I need to remove some wallpaper, but, the last time I helped my Mom do it we used a Vinegar & hot water mixture and it worked great as well!! HTH!

I use half white vinegar and half hot water. Spray well and leave on for 15-20 minutes, it' should peel right off for you.

Thanks for the tip my 3 yr old DD was in time out in her room and started peeling off her boarder so I have one section that need to be replaced. I was dreading it but I might have to try it this weekend.

Thank you for this post! The wallpaper in our master bathroom is starting to come off over the shower and we've been putting it off thinking it would be a project...maybe it won't be so bad now!

I haven't tried to spray mine with anything but we just used a steamer and it come right off....... I mean in a large sheet. That is the only way that I have removed it and it is easy.
