Another idea: Express Trains & Newbie Trains & maybe just regular Trains sign ups

The express train riders can be long standing members of MS and I think then I could trust it to 4 people.

The Newbie train could go 4 + a Mod.

And then anyone who wants to join just a regular train that doesn't care if it takes a month to arrive.

What do you think? Oh and all trains would have stricter rules and consequences.

My only suggestion was going to be a higher post minimum for new riders but the other suggestions sound good too!

sounds good to me.

also we need an official minimum for soon to expire coupons. I give my mailing 5 working days to arrive. anything that would arrive within those days is removed even if they are not expired yet. my general rule is 2 weeks out unless it is something that is highly conveted(sp?) by the next person on the train. I know that there are some expired that are just plain missed but it shouldn't be alot, which I have gotten a train with alot expired b4.

I would have to agree with allgirls. I am on her coupon train so I am probably the one that leaves expired coupons in there!!! I don't want to throw them out if the train might get to someone in time for them to use it, but at the same time there are already so many coupons in the envelope that it costs a "ton" to mail it out. Maybe a limit on how many expire in that month would be a good idea!! Also, weeding out the ones that have been in there for several weeks and that no one seems to be using.

Maybe you need to request a more detailed list from everyone so that only those coupons get included. It might be more confusing that way though. Just an idea!!!

I agree that coupons that expire within 5 days should be removed because it could possibly cut down on the shipping expense.

I also like the idea of more detailed lists from riders.

Keep 'em coming!

I posted a while ago back about being interested in doing this got no reply.I have a bunch of coupons and none are what I use so I figure somebody could use them. Please somebody either PM me or reply to this post please.

I agree with a more detailed list of what coupons can be used. I sent the train to someone who just had "Just about anything" as what coupons they needed. Didn't give me much to go on, as I had tons of baby ones that I'll never use and didn't know if she would or not.

If someone is going to be out of town for more than 2 days should they let the mod's know? We frequently go camping on the weekends over the summer, if the train shows up Thursday or Friday I may not see it until Sunday or Monday.

I would say that if you know you aren't going to be around, post on your thread that you WILL be out of town if the train arrives while you are gone, that you will get it when you return. Or you can ask that you be skipped so that the train doesn't end up being delayed.

I don't really have any suggestions for improvement, the only thing I can think of is to have people who are actually serious about doing the train, but how do you determine that in advance?
