It totally depends on the situation, but for me it was more important to stay home with my kids. They are only small for a couple years, then they are off to school. You can always work part time or provide childcare. It is relatively easy to make extra money, at least I always found a way. My fourth child is starting pre-k in the fall, it has been hard to be a SAHM for so long (10 years now), but I wouldn't have trading these years for anything!!!!!!
I agree. I went through a divorce and had to get a job to pay for the attorney. When the company i was working for closed in April of this year, I decided to take this summer off to spend with my girls. I don't have any debt, and the bills are paid, but I am not saving any money. Kids are only little for a little while and I feel it's important to spend time with them as much as possible. My youngest Is starting Kindergarten in the fall and I will be working for the schools part-time so I can work the same hours and days they are gone.
If I couldn't pay my bills, this might be different, but having debt wouldn't change my mind. I feel I am doing the best thing possible for my girls right now.
