I say, if God wants to keep blessing them and they can handle it. More power to them!!

I do hope to see a future show where they give the Mom a make over though . She is a beautiful lady, but her hair is somewhat stuck in the past.....

I do believe that not cutting her hair is part of her religious beliefs, all of her daughters have the long hair also. Not sure how Mom gets away with that sort of "Mullet" style she wears hers in ? I agree she is a very pretty lady and seems to have a very pleasant personality, not to mention TONS of patience!

I think they're awesome parents...I think dh and I could definitely learn some things from them as far as patience goes.

Not cutting the hair IS their religious belief. There is a verse in the Bible that says "A woman's long hair is her glory"....however, (and I'm not talking about just the Duggars because there are many in the church I attend that doesn't believe in cutting a woman's hair, either) I can't figure out why it's ok to cut some of it (ie., bangs) but not the rest of it?

I don't think that my post sounded hostile towards them. I just feel bad for the kids having so much to do in the fact of helping (to me it seems like raising) the smaller ones- which is understandable in all family situations- to a point!

I also hope that when the children go off on their own that they remain happy and healthy- the way they appear to be now. I always worry when you see families like this- so tight knit and rarely are seen without the whole family, what hapens to the kids when they finally get "freedom". A lot of them usually experiment and so on and get into a lot of trouble. I hope this does not happen!

Like I said before, I admire them and if they want to continue and God keeps blessing them with children, then go for it.

However, I can see the other end of why some might have thought some comments were a little hostile. Way (way) in the back of my mind it does seem a *little* to me like a 'race to have the next one' and to make another show about it. Kind of like the fame of it it all. That's what 'bothers' me about it if anything were to 'bother' me about it. But like I said that thought is way in the back of my head.

Amen!

Don't understand why so many want to give them a hard time. They are raising bright beautiful children. No burden on society. I think we could all learn something from them. JMPn my soapbox:

Her husband looks at her like she is the most beautiful woman in the world. I think that is so sweet.
