I use Bare Essentials / ID Minerals make-up. I've been using it since it was first introduced in the mid-70's.
I also like Origins brand a lot. I wish I could say they were more 'natural' or 'organic'. I have trouble with natural, manufactured cosmetics because I'm allergic to beeswax and that is often what they use for their base.

I really love the Burts Bees line for skin care. (soap, toner, blemishes, moisturizer). love it alot. ... However, I did a lot of searching and FINALLY found a natural mascara, eyeliner and eyeshadow that won't break my piggy bank, honeybeegardens.com. I am so happy about this. I love the Burts bees lip shimmers too, but honeybeegardens has some great lipsticks and they'll sell you samples for .50 so you can see if you like them or not. Let me know what ya'll love, I can't wait to hear what others use. Have a fabulous night!

I haven't bought any natural beauty products (makeup, etc.), but I do make some of my beauty products myself. I guess my favorite (since I use it a few times a week) would be my homemade face/body scrub. I just mix corn meal and olive oil, and keep it in a tiny travel-sized container in the shower. I like to use the fine corn meal for my face, but I have used the regular cornmeal on both my face and body. Leaves your skin BABY soft!! (And GREAT for your feet too!!) And yes, I have to admit that I do smell a bit like a vat of olive oil afterwards, but with the way this makes my skin feel...I can handle that!!

(EDITED TO ADD: Just wanted to mention that on the days I use this on my face, I don't have to use moisturizer!!)

i wash my face with honey and use a toner of 1 part vinegar and 1 part water,i make my own deodorant 1 part baking soda 1 part corn starch 20 drops of tea tree oil, i also make my own shampoo Old-fashioned Homemade Castile Shampoo
Castile soap has been around for many years, and it’s no wonder why. Castile soap is good for a number of uses, and homemade shampoo is one of them. To make Castile shampoo, simply grate a bar of Castile soap with a grater. Blend the Castile soap in an electric food processor or blender along with enough warm water to give it a thick pudding-like consistency. After this mixture is well blended, add about 1/4 cup of olive oil, and ½ cup of distilled water. Continue blending the mixture until it’s well blended and ready to use. This homemade shampoo will make your hair soft, shiny, and naturally clean.

I wash my face with either plain honey, or for exfoliating, I add a little baking soda to the honey. Just take it and smooth it all over your face and rinse. You can also do a mask of 1 tsp honey mixed well with one tsp milk. Smooth on face and leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse. After, I either use 1 part vinegar, 1 part water for a toner, or I use Witchhazel, which works great. For moisturizer, I use pure Virgin Coconut oil on my face. You don't need much, and it make cause some initial breakouts, because it is pulling toxins from the skin. But if you can survive the first week, you will have beautiful skin and a lot of fine lines and some age spots will start to disappear. I've been using it for over 2 weeks now and LOVE it! (ETA: I've been getting compliments on my skin for the first time in years, since I started this)

Tell me more about the virgin Coconut oil moisturizer!!
I bought a can of the solid coconut oil, because I heard you can spread it on bread, rolls, etc., IN PLACE OF BUTTER, and that it's better for you...and sweet!! I haven't opened it yet, but could I use this "solid" on my face? I've used a tiny bit of regualr Crisco on my face before, and that worked well, but I haven't done that in a long time.
And it actually PULLS TOXINS out of your skin??? How COOL!! I really want to try this, if I'm able to use the solid oil!!!

LuvMySoldier: I was skeptical, at first. Putting pure oil on my face? But, CO absorbs really quickly, so it doesn't leave your face feeling greasy or oily, after about 5 minutes or so. I even use the mineral foundation on my face about 10 minutes after, and it goes on fine. You only need a little bit of the oil, but make sure that it's Virgin Coconut oil. I did a lot of research online and everything I read says that it does pull the toxins straight from the skin, so it's really good if you have bad breakouts. But, you do need to remember that it may cause breakouts, because of that. It's wierd, because ever since I had DS#2, my skin has been breaking out weekly. Not always bad, but enough for me to be self-conscious of it. It has only had the initial breakout, since I started the CO and I haven't had any pimples since. So far (as it's only been about 2 weeks), I absolutely love the CO.
Also, all Virgin CO is solid at room temp. It has a very high melting point of 77 degrees, so as long as it's cooler than that, it will be solid. Just take a little on your finger tips and rub them together, it melt and be able to smooth on easily.
OH, and I found out a new face cleanser, that I'm going to try. It sounds like it will be nice. The girl that gave me the recipe swears by it.
3 oz. honey
4 oz. finely ground raw almonds
2 oz apple cider vinegar
2 oz. water
6 drops lavendar oil
I'm going to put this together tonight and start using it. I'll let you know what I think.

Okay, I'm holding in my hand a 31.5 oz. jar of Lou Ana Coconut Oil, and on the front label it says "100% Pure All Natural". Is this okay to use on my face?
BTW...that face cleanser sounds HEAVENLY! If only I had lavendar oil...
