LuvMySoldier: I was skeptical, at first. Putting pure oil on my face? But, CO absorbs really quickly, so it doesn't leave your face feeling greasy or oily, after about 5 minutes or so. I even use the mineral foundation on my face about 10 minutes after, and it goes on fine. You only need a little bit of the oil, but make sure that it's Virgin Coconut oil. I did a lot of research online and everything I read says that it does pull the toxins straight from the skin, so it's really good if you have bad breakouts. But, you do need to remember that it may cause breakouts, because of that. It's wierd, because ever since I had DS#2, my skin has been breaking out weekly. Not always bad, but enough for me to be self-conscious of it. It has only had the initial breakout, since I started the CO and I haven't had any pimples since. So far (as it's only been about 2 weeks), I absolutely love the CO.
Also, all Virgin CO is solid at room temp. It has a very high melting point of 77 degrees, so as long as it's cooler than that, it will be solid. Just take a little on your finger tips and rub them together, it melt and be able to smooth on easily.
OH, and I found out a new face cleanser, that I'm going to try. It sounds like it will be nice. The girl that gave me the recipe swears by it.
3 oz. honey
4 oz. finely ground raw almonds
2 oz apple cider vinegar
2 oz. water
6 drops lavendar oil
I'm going to put this together tonight and start using it. I'll let you know what I think.
