Price Adjustment Policies - Page 4

Price macthing most stores don't do with out you purchasing the same item and the model an serial item is the same. Some products might be the same in a picture however they may be made by two different company. Even the smallest difference can be a reason why they don't match prices. Also they might not match some stores because they are a closeout store and don't carry the Sam products year round.

If something goes on sale past the official price adjustment time, I will just re-buy the item at the sale price, and return it with the first, full-price receipt, so long as it is within their return policy timeframe. I figure that if I buy something and can return it within 90 days (most common return policy I see), then why should it matter to them that it is the IDENTICAL ITEM that I just happened to purchase twice? It is still in brand new, tagged condition ready to go right back on the shelf.

I am very honest, and don't want to do anything underhanded, so please share if you don't think this is legit. And these are only big, national stores like Walmart or Target, not boutiques or small mom and pop stores.

I've heard of alot of people doing this also. I hear about it mostly on the gymboree boards. In extreme circumstances, Gymboree gets wise to these people that do excessive amounts of returns and has actually started refusing to refund certain people they feel are taking advantage of the system.

I use to work at Macy's and our price adjustment is 10 days from receipt date. You just need to bring in the receipt.

Staples does, I just got 100$ back from my printer 10 days after purchase. I am not sure what the time limit is though.

Check their websites for a policy for that and there is probably a number you can call for that on their or call the store you got it at and speak to the manager.
