What to do with leftover bars of soap??

You know, the little sliver of soap that no one wants to use up. Dh was forever just throwing them away when they got down to nothing. I thought about adding it to another bar, never really got it to stick well, and we use the pump soap at the bathroom and kitchen sinks. So the other day, I just tossed it in the toilet tank. Figured it will disolve and only be good for one flush. Just another quick way to keep the inside of the toilet bowl a little "clean" in between weekly scrubbings. I do not think that it will harm the toilet. I will also toss it in when I run a bath for myself, kinda like a bubble bath. Not a lot of bubbles, but than I dont like a lot when I take a regular bubble bath.

Anyone else have any ideas for what to do with bar soap when it gets small.

I just wet both the sliver and the new bar and stick them together. I've never had trouble with them sticking....your ideas sound good though!

Now, I've never done this, but I read that you can cut a piece of pantyhose, wrap the soap slivers in it and tie a knot. It's supposed to lather up just fine.

We let the kids play with the slivers in their baths. They love them!!! That and small empty shampoo bottles!

Take the small bar of soap and cut into smaller pieces, melt in some very hot water and make hand soap. I have been doing this for years.

My mom use to break into very small pieces and add to the laundry.

I put them in a knee high or other netting and we use them at the outside faucet during the summer or while camping.

You can also save them and use for homemade laundry detergent.

Thanks for these great ideas! I hate to throw them away, because the nice moisturing bars are not cheep!! , so now I have great ideas on just what to do with the "tiny" soaps
